Embracing authenticity and vulnerability.
Being open and honest about their emotions is not something that most men are taught to do. In fact, the epitome of masculinity has been portrayed as the silent and quiet type that doesn’t need anyone for anything. Thankfully that message of masculinity is changing with the likes of Ryan Niddle. He has found a better way forward to show up as a man, husband, friend, and leader by embracing authenticity and vulnerability rather than running from it. Imagine how much different our society would be not if men were more like women but if men were able to express the whole range of their experience and emotions. Moments that matter.
Do you have specific moments in your life that you look back on as important turning points? How have those moments influenced the trajectory of your personal and professional life? There were two moments in Ryan Niddle’s life that ended up changing things significantly for him. The first moment was with his then-girlfriend, who confronted him about dating another woman while he was with her. That allowed Ryan to move away from a duplicity life and move closer toward authenticity. The next moment came when Ryan realized that he needed to stop using anabolic steroids to enhance his body. Both moments were difficult for Ryan to endure but in the end, he came out a stronger individual. To hear more about Ryan’s story, make sure to listen to this episode of BeFufilled!
